As the new Safety Officer for the Santa Cruz County ARES Organization, I want inform you of an upcoming event:
FEMA and FCC Nationwide Emergency Alert Test on Aug. 11, 11:20 PT.
See\u00a0FEMA and FCC Plan Nationwide Emergency Alert Test for Aug. 11 Test Messages Will be Sent to TVs and Radios Along with Select Cell Phones That Have Opted-in to Receive Test Messages<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This test will be performed on Radio, TV, and Wireless Phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To monitor this this test on your smartphone, go to your smartphone\u2019s settings notification page (on my iPhone, Government Alerts are shown when I scroll to the bottom). From there you can turn on the alerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To monitor this test on your Ham Radio, monitor your local NOAA weather station. For XCZ ARES, it is 162.550MHz, Channel 67.
